What is the
Solarpunk Project?
As the climate crisis worsens, and world leaders fail to enact adequate policies to meet the moment, we need to start thinking outside the box.
This is why Dr. Mika created the Solarpunk Project as a not-for-profit that aims to:
(1) improve access to climate and atmospheric science for non-scientists, with the goal of improving science literacy.
(2) engage non-scientists in imaginative ideation and world-building toward solutions to the climate crisis.
(3) utilize art and storytelling to create access points to climate science and environmental activism.

“I stared down the hill […] where just a glint of water was
visible in the distance through the trees and bushes.
The world is full of painful stories.
Sometimes it seems as though there aren’t
any other kind and yet I found myself thinking
how beautiful that glint of
water was through the trees”
-Octavia Butler (from: Parable of the Sower)
