After two brutal days of rain, the sun will finally return for a good long while today! Cooler air has settled in behind the storm and temps are in the 50s this morning and should only top out in the low 60s under partly sunny skies.

Chicago officially picked up over 2 inches of rain with this storm, bringing our total since September 1 to 5.11 inches, 1.8 inches higher than “normal”. It’s been a wet one! This is following a very wet summer.

I hate to sound like a broken record but - one of the impacts of a strong El Nino is a wet late summer and fall in the upper Midwest. We did it! Haha. THAT SAID, going forward from now through winter, things are expected to be much drier and warmer than normal.

That said - the next 7 days should be dry. Sunny skies will prevail this weekend as temps gradually creep back into the low 70s. 

Monday and Tuesday will be seasonably cool (60s), but the second half of next week continues to look quite warm with temps possibly even reaching into the 80s on Marathon Sunday 😢. Our next chance of rain will be next Thurs/Fri.

Tl;dr - seasonable and sunny today through the weekend and start of next wk. 60s and 70s.
