Happy Friday!! Who’s ready for an abrupt shift from lingering cold spring to summer, seemingly overnight?? After some unsettled weather this morning, the heat is ON. Temps will pump up into the mid 70s this afternoon due to strong southerly winds.

Powerful t-storms are are likely late tonight (after midnight) into tomorrow morning. In their wake will be high dew points and summer-like temps. Tomorrow will be muggy, in the mid 80s. The chance of more thunderstorms returns tomorrow evening into Sunday morning.

But as the strong summer-like ridge of high pressure grows over the coming days, the threat of storms will retreat further and further north, leaving us trapped in a hot, steamy air mass.

Sunday and Monday will feel like mid-July.

Storms are likely Monday and Tuesday and the weather will cool off slightly on Weds and Thurs of next week, but looking at the big picture: the paradigm has finally shifted into a summer one. :) 

Tl;dr - happy friday, summer is (almost) here! Warm, muggy weather for the next 5 days.
