Good morning and sorry for disappearing all week. It was a tough one.

Anyways, stubbornly cool air continues to remain in place as a deep tough in the jet stream remains oriented over the eastern half of the county. This has resulted in the cool and unsettled weather pattern over the last week. Despite that, the whole pattern seems to now be on the move. The jet stream trough will transition eastward into the Atlantic Ocean, making way for a more “zonal” jet stream. This will allow temps to moderate slightly. Highs today could finally reach the 60s again. Partly sunny skies will dominate.

This Memorial Day weekend will be nice from a sun perspective - partly cloudy skies and nary a drop of rain in sight through Monday. However, temps will continue to be OBNOXIOUSLY cool, with highs only in the 60s or so.

This spring reminds me of 2019 when cool weather continued into June. I specifically remember a weekend in mid-June 2019 where the temps were stuck in the 50s for most of the weekend. The whole month ended up averaging 3 degrees cooler than normal. Fingers crossed that that won’t happen again this year but the major disruption in the polar vortex that occurred right at the end of this winter is v similar to what happened in 2019. We’ll see!

Tl;dr - cool, but partly sunny today. High 63F. Partly sunny, cool all weekend. Highs in the 60s. MAYBE warming up next week?
