Happy Wednesday!! First things first - I am sorry for disappearing AGAIN. Life has been a LOT, but, more importantly, I celebrated my marriage this weekend! :)
Anyways - for today: the oppressive heat that seems like it just WONT GO AWAY, will finally start to…. Go away today :) We are currently on track to conclude the 10th warmest July on record and, based on the radar imagery this morning, it looks like we will end it with a bang :)
The remnants of a powerful derecho will work their way closer to Chicago this morning. Dew points remain elevated so there is PLENTY of moisture in the air to work with. Impressive upward dynamics will trigger a wall of storms that will push into the city between 1 and 4pm today. Rain will continue for a while after the initial onslaught and will likely continue through tomorrow morning. Temps will peak around 82F this morning before sliding back into the 70s where they will remain through tomorrow.
The best news, however, is that dewpoints will gradually decline from the 70s this morning to the 50s by tomorrow evening :)
And then, a TREAT (that we’ve all earned): 70s and sun on Saturday and Sunday will make for an absolutely exquisite weekend!!
Tl;dr - humid, stormy today. Heaviest rain 2pm - 8pm. Cooler tomorrow, rain ending. EXQUISITE WEEKEND 🌞 coming up!
