Happy July! It’s gonna be another hot one out there today with elevated dew points (mid-70s), hi temps peaking in the upper-90s, and heat indices cresting to near 110F, just like yesterday.

All this hot, moisture-laden air has now started to ignite some t-storms at the northern fringe of this heat dome. As the heat dome slides eastward, that unsettled weather will begin to nudge its way in to the Chicago area. So while tomorrow will still be hot (just like today and yesterday), t-storms JUST to our north will skirt past us and some could even make their way down into our area as early as tomorrow night.

Unfortunately, it does look like thunderstorms could rain all over everyone’s 4th of July parade :/ ….

Storms are likely Friday, Friday night and Saturday as high temperatures slowly dip back into the 80s. It won’t be a TOTAL washout, but any storms that do occur could be briefly heavy with very strong winds and thunder/lightning. Storms will gradually taper down on Sunday and next week looks far more pleasant :)

Tl;dr - HOT again today: 90s, head indices: 110F. Hot tomorrow, but numerous t-storms likely Friday-Sunday (relief).
