As I noted yesterday, a band of light to moderate rain will move through the region today with the heaviest showers likely around midday. Temps will remain relatively cool - upper 70s, but dew points will be higher than normal (obviously, since it will be raining lol).

MUCH drier air is expected tomorrow and Friday– behind the front– and temps will also be on the more pleasant-side which will make for a duo of Chamber of Commerce days.

Unfortunately, hot weather is expected to return over the weekend and into the first part of next week as autumn refuses to arrive. 

A note about that: The current El Nino in the eastern Pacific is now on track to be the strongest El Nino in recorded history and likely the strongest El Nino since the apex of the Byzantine Empire, the Song Dynasty and the Fatimid Caliphate in 1000 CE. The strongest El Nino that we know of – in 1877-78 – killed more than 50 million people worldwide due to famine, disease, and pestilence, and was known in North America as the year without a winter.

As the great Sam Jackson said: “Hold on to your butts”, it’s gonna be a wild ride.

Tl;dr - light rain today, drier and pleasant tomorrow and Friday. Hot this wknd. And: El Nino is out of control.
